If you’re not sure if Osteopathy can help you, you are more than welcome to reach out to us via email or phone call to discuss your symptoms.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your appointment by contacting us via phone or email. Please note that cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any cancellation fees.
What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit, your Osteopath will take a detailed medical history and conduct a thorough physical examination. They will discuss your symptoms, health concerns, and treatment goals. Based on this information, your Osteopath will develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
What should I wear to my treatment?
Loose fitting clothing is advised as it is important that you are comfortable throughout the consultation. Your Osteopath may ask for you to remove some clothing depending on which body part needs to be treated but this will be discussed with you during the consultation.
Do I need a referral?
No, Osteopaths are Primary Health Care practitioners, therefore a referral is not necessary.
Can I claim with Private Health Insurance?
Yes, HICAPS facilities are available on site which allows for easy on-the-spot claiming. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm coverage and any specific requirements. You will then be required to pay the gap.
Is Osteopathic treatment covered by Medicare?
Osteopathic treatment is generally not covered by Medicare. However, if you have had chronic pain for over 6 months, you may be eligible to receive a referral from your GP that entitles you to up to 5 treatments per calendar year subsidised by Medicare under an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan. You will need to bring this plan along to your appointment and you will be required to pay the gap.
What do I need to bring?
If you have had any scans, it would be beneficial for you to bring these reports along to your treatment. Your health insurance card and some extra water to keep hydrated after treatment is always important.
